I was kind of surprised to hear that the house owners were going to Ireland as I had also heard about the country being in a pretty bad recession.
Sometimes when interacting with
Africans, they think that I'm also an immigrant. However it seems when they find out that's not the case their attitude changes. The mother of one classmate actually said she didnt really have much interest in "African-Americans". So it's interesting to see how S.Africans seem to have a different view on the "A-Americans".

Yes! Defend us girl! It's so true.
Being a Black girl from New York, I'm defending some part of my identity on a daily basis, whether its about women, black people or New Yorkers. But the best we can do is be the examples of why the stereotypes are wrong. You'll change some people's minds and maybe not convince others, but having that dialogue and sharing is definitely a step in the right direction.

Wow, I feel sad for the aggressive vendors. It just seems like an almost impossible situation for them. But with those hustling skills they would certainly do well selling in NY.
